Access to water is a basic Human Right and, most of us take it for granted, however, for indigenous communities in northern Mexico that is not the case. Providing drinking water to these communities in the mountain region of Chihuahua has been a dire challenge for many decades. The extreme temperatures – reaching up to 40°C (104°F) in summer – and the desert conditions of the area cause severe droughts across that state every year. These conditions are exacerbated by the lack of infrastructure to supply water to smaller communities affected by shortages.
Finding meaningful opportunities to contribute to the communities where we live and work is important to us. We are proud to partner with Dawson Creek, B.C.
We changed the name of our company from TransCanada Corporation to TC Energy, following the approval of our shareholders at our Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders on May 3, 2019. Our new name TC Energy better reflects the scope of our operations and reinforces our position as a leading North American energy infrastructure company.
We're more than a pipeline company — we're a team. Whether in Canada, the U.S. or Mexico, the people who call TransCanada home make contributions that make us better, smarter and more successful every day. We're proud to support people like Juan, from our Leak Detection Engineering Department, within the Liquids Pipelines Business Unit.
