TC Energy is proposing to construct, own and operate four separate projects as part of the West Path Delivery Program, to be located within Alberta and British Columbia. These proposed projects are necessary to supply growing demand in southwest Alberta, southern B.C. and downstream North American markets for natural gas produced in Western Canada.
The four projects are:
The West Path Delivery Program further enhances connections of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) to high-value downstream markets. This $1.2 billion program brings our sanctioned expansions of NGTL and Foothills infrastructure to $10 billion, demonstrating our strong commitment to the long-term viability of the WCSB.
Both the NGTL System and the Foothills South B.C. Pipeline Systems support the Canadian natural gas industry by providing safe and reliable transportation service to markets in and outside of Canada. Expanding the system to meet the growing needs of producers in Canada creates meaningful positive local community impacts and economic well-being across the country.
These projects are part of TC Energy’s ongoing commitment to add incremental delivery capacity to the system that will facilitate the competitive access of the basin and volume to facilitate market access and debottleneck areas of growing production. We are in the preliminary stages of development and the facilities, routes and other project specifics have not been finalized and are subject to change. We are engaging potentially affected stakeholders, Indigenous groups and landowners in discussions to get perspectives on areas of importance regarding the location of its facilities.
