Trans Québec & Maritimes Pipeline (TQM) has been operational since 1982 and has operated a gas transmission system since 1982. The pipeline connects with the Canadian Mainline near the Ontario/Québec border to transport natural gas to the Montréal and Québec City corridor, and interconnects with the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System from the Northeast US.
Compressor stations keep the natural gas flowing at a desired flow rate by mechanically re-pressurizing the gas along the pipeline.
Pipeline investment supports economic growth, job creation, tax revenues and energy connected communities across the Commonwealth.
