Today, the inaugural TC Energy Summer Scholars Academy at the University of Houston’s College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics came to a close. June 19 was an ordinary day at the Bickers Compressor Station in Virginia. Ordinary in that it marked the station’s 10,000th consecutive day without a recordable injury as defined by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. That means there hasn’t been a work-related injury or illness resulting in medical treatment beyond first aid or days away from work since 1993.
