A crossing, also known as an encroachment, can be a temporary or permanent structure across, on, along or under a facility or pipeline right-of-way. A crossing can also mean equipment or machinery crossing over the pipeline right-of-way or facility site. Many such activities require written consent from the pipeline operator to ensure the continued integrity and safe operation of the pipeline.

NGTL is proposing to permanently cease operations at 28 meter stations and 31 lateral pipelines, loops and/or producer tie-ins on the NGTL System within Alberta as these facilities are no longer necessary to provide service to customers.

Although rare, pipeline leaks can occur and TransCanada wants to ensure that you, your employees, your students, and all those who use your facilities, have the information they need to work, learn and play safely near our pipelines.
