Two Technical Centre teams have won Canadian Energy Pipeline Association Awards in the categories of Quality and Innovation. These industry innovations not only make our business more efficient, but safer and more reliable. The P-Square Methodology developed by Technology, Development and Innovation has won the award for Quality while the 4D Inspection Tool which was developed by Project Delivery Excellence in partnership with an external vendor has won for Innovation.

A new application of an existing technology has been tested and will be implemented by the Coastal GasLink Facilities Engineering team to reduce methane emissions on the project’s compressor and meter stations.
The horizontal directional drilling (HDD) the Northern Courier Project completed under the Athabasca River in Alberta, Canada, turned out to be the longest 42-inch-wide HDD completed in North America to date at 2,195 metres (7,200 feet), in order to install the pipeline 70 metres below the riverbed.
