Iroquois Gas Transmission System

Overview

The Iroquois Gas Transmission System is owned by four U.S. and Canadian energy companies or limited partnerships. The system consists of 416 miles (669 km) of natural gas pipeline that extends from the Canadian border at Waddington, NY through New York state and western Connecticut before reaching Commack and the Bronx, NY.

The system began operations in 1992 and continues to fulfill its promise of delivering a safe, reliable supply of natural gas to families and businesses in the many communities along its route.

TC Energy owns 50 percent of the Iroquois pipeline. The remaining 50 percent is owned by affiliates of Dominion Energy, Inc.

Iroquois is a proud supporter of both the Connecticut and New York state chapters of the Nature Conservancy. We act as a corporate sponsor and partner with local chapters to fund projects within our pipeline communities.

Helping protect duck wetlands

Thanks to a grant to Ducks Unlimited, this important leader in wetlands preservation was able to purchase an excavator that was used to restore 30 acres of tidal marsh in Connecticut’s Silver Sands State Park.
