About the Powwow
For more than 40 years, TC Energy has been engaging with Indigenous groups.
TC Energy’s Indigenous relations team engages early with potentially affected Indigenous groups to understand their interests, identify opportunities, respond to their concerns and facilitate participation on our projects. Through collaboration and open communication with Indigenous groups, we strive to earn their respect and trust to establish and grow positive long-term relationships.

What to expect at the Calgary Stampede Powwow
Each day you will see individual competitors performing in different categories of competition. There are eight (8) styles of dance that each have their own competitive categories and two age groups. Individual competitors will enter the arena and dance to music performed by one of the nine (9) drum groups. Although there are multiple competitors on the floor at once, each competitor is scored individually.
Audiences will feel the beat as the dancers compete in a variety of dance styles, including Chicken, Grass, Fancy, Jingle, Traditional and Buckskin with age categories ranging from age 13 to Golden (55+).
