For many, the stress of the pandemic has taken its toll. For some, it has made access to necessities like food and housing even more challenging. Coastal GasLink wanted to find an impactful way to help those most in need.

TC Energy’s ANR Pipeline Company has been a backbone of a connected energy system serving Wisconsin, Michigan and the Midwest for decades. In response to the region’s growing demand for natural gas, TC Energy is proposing the Northwoods Project.

On the Buckeye XPress (BXP)  project in southern Ohio, four state-approved herpetologists are on speed dial with TC Energy’s construction team. Part of the pipeline is near a snake hibernaculum, or winter snake den, where species protected by the state, such as the timber rattlesnake, are known to roam. For that reason, the BXP team has put in place mitigation measures to ensure the safety of snakes—as well as its workers from the venomous reptiles.
