Renewable natural gas (RNG) is a clean and reliable fuel that is often made from…drumroll, please…animal waste! As that waste breaks down, it produces methane, a naturally occurring greenhouse gas. The methane is captured, eliminating it from the atmosphere, and then processed to use as an energy source. This helps to meet a growing energy demand, while transitioning to cleaner sources of energy.

This pipeline expansion project in western Alberta expanded pipeline capacity for the transportation of natural gas to growing markets located in central and southern Alberta from the Peace River Project Area.

Stretching 3,340 miles (5,375 km), Columbia Gulf connects to virtually every major pipeline in the U.S. Gulf Coast and to additional Midwestern lines.

Since entering service in 2008, the Millennium Pipeline has delivered natural gas, provided jobs and supported local economies throughout the state of New York.
