A new application of an existing technology has been tested and will be implemented by the Coastal GasLink Facilities Engineering team to reduce methane emissions on the project’s compressor and meter stations.

We are thrilled to have been nominated for a Global Energy Award in the ‘Collaborative Trendsetter’ category for our work on the Plausible Profiles Corrosion Assessment Model or ‘P Square’ for short. This industry disrupting model has been extensively reviewed and is endorsed by global industry experts as a significant improvement to existing models. It has been presented to regulators, international industry organizations and standards committees and welcomed by operators across the world.

Coastal GasLink implemented a unique program within its workforce lodges known as the Community Workforce Accommodation Advisor (CWAA) Program. The program is being rolled out in Coastal GasLink’s workforce lodges, and is employing members from neighbouring Indigenous communities to lead programming that promotes inclusion and fosters a deeper understanding of the rich cultures and traditions of Indigenous communities.

The Bécancour Power Plant is a 550 MW cogeneration facility located in Bécancour, Quebec. It can supply electricity to Hydro-Québec Distribution to meet electricity demands in the province of Québec and provides a source of steam for a neighbouring company in the industrial park.
