Focus remains on continuing to meet the evolving energy demand today and in the future CALGARY, Alberta, June 09, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TC Energy Corporation (TSX, NYSE: TRP) (TC Energy or the Company) confirmed today that after a comprehensive review of its options, and in consultation with its partner, the Government of Alberta, it has terminated the Keystone XL Pipeline Project (the Project).

TC Energy is pleased that the Government of Canada has approved the NOVA Gas Transmission Limited (NGTL) West Path Delivery 2023 Project, part of the West Path Delivery Program, after a robust assessment by the Canada Energy Regulator (CER).

A proposed natural gas project would double the size of a pipeline that runs through Hampton Roads to accommodate the region’s growing demand. The Columbia Gas Transmission system runs from New York to the Midwest and Southeast. Virginia’s the southernmost of the 10 states it touches. But Virginia Natural Gas says the pipeline infrastructure is outdated and can’t keep up...

The proposed Project consists of two pipeline components which would add up to approximately 85 kilometres (km) of newly constructed 48- inch pipe to the NGTL System, as well as a compressor station unit addition.

TC Energy Corporation announced signing of option agreements to sell a 10 per cent equity interest in the Coastal GasLink Pipeline Limited Partnership to Indigenous communities across the project corridor. The opportunity to become business partners through equity ownership was made available to all 20 Nations holding existing agreements with Coastal GasLink.
