After more than four years of work, the Mountaineer XPress (MXP) project has become the latest of TransCanada’s U.S. natural gas pipeline projects to be placed in-service, with authorization being granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 1, 2019.

This 1.3 kilometre section of pipe weighs over 1.2 million pounds, and the 48-inch HDD signifies the largest of its kind for TC Energy and one of the longest in North America.
