Safety is our top priority. The pipeline is designed, constructed and operated in accordance with rigorous federal safety standards, including regulations set by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). We use advanced monitoring systems, routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure pipeline integrity. In addition, the pipeline is regularly tested and patrolled to identify any issues before they become safety concerns. Our team works closely with emergency responders and local authorities to ensure proper preparedness and public safety. We are committed to maintaining the highest safety standards throughout the life cycle of the pipeline. Natural gas plays a critical role in the global energy transition. It is a reliable, high-efficiency energy source that is affordable. We build and operate safe and reliable energy infrastructure, including our 30,480 miles of natural gas pipelines in the U.S.

We will seek to acquire the land rights necessary to build and operate the pipeline system through negotiation with each landowner in accordance with our Land Guiding Principles. The types of agreements and land rights to be acquired will vary by property based on Project needs and will be presented to landowners through our land agents. Landowners will have ample time to review and discuss the documents with their assigned land agent.   

The granting of an easement to TC Energy does not prevent the landowner from granting another easement to someone else that crosses their property or TC Energy's easement, so long as it does not interfere with our easement rights. For safety and operating reasons, certain design and construction restrictions will apply to proposed nearby construction or crossings of our pipeline. The parties proposing to install or construct facilities near the pipeline are required to apply for written consent to cross or encroach from TC Energy, and coordinate with our Operations and Crossings Teams prior to and during activities on or near TC Energy’s right-of-way.
