TC Energy Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Natural Gas Pipelines, Tina Faraca, issued the below statement following passage of the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Affordable, reliable energy is essential for American families and businesses, especially as demand accelerates across a rapidly modernizing economy. Addressing that challenge begins with today's passage of the SPEED Act in the House—a critical step toward a more effective permitting system. We commend Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-AR) and Representative Jared Golden (D-ME) for leading this commonsense legislation that advances critical infrastructure while maintaining strong environmental safeguards. By streamlining projects, the SPEED Act will lower consumer costs, support U.S. manufacturing, strengthen energy security, and boost America's competitiveness. We urge policymakers to continue building on this progress with broader permitting reforms—such as those outlined in the National Petroleum Council's recent report—to deliver lasting benefits for American families and businesses.”
