In response to rising energy demand from consumers in northern Nevada, Tuscarora Gas Transmission Company is proposing the Tuscarora XPress project. Upon completion, the project would increase the capability of Tuscarora’s existing facilities to provide firm transportation service of approximately 15 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of natural gas from Malin, Oregon to Wadsworth, Nevada.
Operated by a subsidiary of TC Energy, the Tuscarora Gas Transmission System begins at an interconnection with Gas Transmission Northwest LLC’s pipeline system near Malin and extends 229 miles (369 km) southeasterly to its terminus in Storey County, Nevada, at NV Energy’s Frank A. Tracy Generating Station. The 300-mile (483-km) system, which includes associated laterals, has a current capacity of 230 MMcf/d of natural gas.
