The Portland XPress (PXP) project on the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System (PNGTS) increases New England’s energy supply without touching underground facilities. Added to existing capacity, PXP is capable of transporting 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of natural gas to areas where it is in great demand.
The third-and-final phase of the project entered service in November 2020.
PXP is governed according to regulations outlined by the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). It is also subject to rules and regulations of the Department of Energy (DOE) administered by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
TC Energy is committed to notifying affected landowners, towns, communities and local, state and federal governments and agencies involved in the project. If you have any questions about the project, please reach out to us via the contact information below.
